Here we go again, its almost summer time!! (aka carne asada season aka hookah season aka bp every weekend season) Well kind of... NY weather is playing games with me so who knows if we will actually have one this year. I recently bumped into an old friend and we ended the convo with "we gotta link". Just thinking about summer and this particular conversation got me thinking about all the times I and everyone else wrote "we gotta chill this summer" on someones yearbook. You know how may times I did that shit. It was always those people you were kind of cool but not really COOL with. I always felt weird about getting my yearbook signed, never really had the right approach. Truthfully it was a little overwhelming when you low-key awkward. But I did have a few definite people who I knew I would swap yearbooks with and write some bullshit. I wonder who started this whole thing, for whatever reason back then it seemed like such a big deal. I remember that use to be a low-key flex in middle school...like AAAAHHHHH look how many people signed my shit.
It made me actually go back and look at my old yearbooks and all I saw from random people was something along the lines of hanging out that summer. Okay... thats not all I saw, I did see how CRAZY I looked back then. I had weird chubby and skinny phases all through out middle and high school. No hair or beard..MY lord I looked wild. But anyways, I never chilled with any of those individuals I said I would. Truthfully "we gotta chill" is up there with "I'm 10 mins away"..both great lies. I can't begin to tell you how many times I ran into someone and they hit me that after some little weird small talk. Small talk is a whole other topic I feel weird about but I won't get into that.
Anyways, S/O to all those people who I never chilled with. Hope all is well, If you see me out at a bar, waiting for the hookah to be passed to me as Im vibin to some trap latino, or at stop n shop then HOLLA AT THE KID!
