THE BRUNCH BOOT

My coworkers probably think I hate them because I never spend my lunch in the break room. The truth is I just like being dolo in the car bumping some thugger or whatever. Even when I come home from somewhere I spend way too much time sitting outside in my car. It’s just a peaceful place for me to cry and think about different blog ideas. I’m super excited for you guys to read this particular blog because it has to do with something I truly believe in. Also the last time I went to a museum I saw this pretty sick sign that inspired this blog.
As I get older I’m realizing that being “different” is such a beautiful and powerful thing. We live in such a weird “group think” era and it is VERY important to maintain/stand by your individuality. With that being said I’m not saying to always go against the grain JUST because you don’t want to be like anyone else. I’m saying to embrace your uniqueness and realize that IF you are different its not only OK but it is actually powerful. Being different can be anything by the way…it can simply just be the way you dress. I remember a few years ago when I bought my first pair of Chelsea boots I was CLOWNED by several people. Till this day I do not know why because them shits were FIRE but back then for a quick second it bummed me out. For some reason especially when friends and coworkers made fun of me for wearing them it made me feel like an outsider. Luckily for me I can crack jokes back and I had an understanding that no matter what they said I liked those boots and will still wear them. In the end, they played themselves because they become the STAPLE brunch boot later on so HA. What I’m saying is… even when you feel like an outsider because the way you are is NOT so “typical” you should not be SAD about that.
Although it may not always feel this way, there are no set rules on how people should be in this society. I understand that certain standards are put to make people feel otherwise but you have to look past that and realize that being YOU is the most powerful thing. I say its powerful because there is nothing more amazing than having self awareness/confidence in who you are as an individual. Imagine not being you and having to try to fit in because you don’t want to be an outsider. Again… as I grow up I’m learning this now more than ever. I would be lying if in the past and even today I have my days were I double think things in fear of it being weird. I’m still not 10000% there but I am on my way and it feels sooooooo good.
So take it from me…
DRESS HOW YOU WANT
THINK HOW YOU WANT
TALK HOW YOU WANT
BE INTO WHATEVER YOU WANT
BE WHATEVER YOU WANT
because this is want makes you strong and beautiful. There is something in being comfortable in your own skin. Eventually those who just try to fit in will just not be happy and will figure this out. It also will not happen overnight, so enjoy this journey of bing different JUUUHEARD.
Thank you again if you made it this far…just know that it means the world to me!
LOVE,
DAAZED
