Lets Talk
*wipes dust off keyboard**
So this is the second time I find myself laying on my stomach with my feet crossed writing a blog. My feet aren't kicked up in the air so I guess it makes things less weird. Anyway... thats neither here nor there, WELCOME back to another one of these random inconsistent blogs. If you read this far I love you..if you make it to the end DM @gr00vy.1 and he will cashapp you $5.
Speaking of dro, we had a nice little bro sesh yesterday at our favorite coffee shop (S/O The Bayshore Bean) and it motivated me to write this blog. Now that I got some things cleared up in my life, these blogs will be way more consistent and everything will make sense eventually. So as I sipped on my iced latte (Banana Nut to be exact) and enjoyed the beautiful view of good ol Main St... I found myself in some good ass conversation. Side note...why does coffee just RUN through you?!?!? I legit can't have any plans immediately after I have it because I know I'll be in the bathroom going through it. EHH maybe its just me lol..we talked about insecurities, the lack of content we put out, and plans for the future. These are all topics that I will talk about in future blogs (be on the look out juuuheaard) but for now I wanna focus on the actual act of speaking.
I know we hear it all the time...the concern that the "old fashion" ways of communicating are gone. With social media being a big part in todays world, I see it with my own friends. Every time I go out to dinner or If we are just hanging out, someone is ALWAYS on their phone. Its hilarious because half the time they literally just scroll through the same three apps. Scrolling through IG, Snapchat, and Twitter... refreshing the page in hopes that something new pops up. I compare it to when you are MAD hungry and there is no food at home but you STILL open up that fridge like something new gonna make its way there. Its actually crazy to be in that situation or just when you are out and you see a whole table of people doing everything BUT talking. Ladies, compare how often you get approached while you buying cold cuts at Stop & Shop VS. the amount of DM's you get after you post on IG. The chances are that you get approached via DM way more than you do when you are just out and about. You ever get to class 10 min early and theres mad students but no one is interacting...I just find it so weird.
I mean hey... you might not like talking to random people or you may be shy but just try it. Put yourself out of your comfort zone and just talk. It doesn't have to be someone random...next time you are with your friends just stay off the phone. Just talk to them and appreciate their presence. It felt good to sit there not be glued to that devil in your pocket. I know it sounds crazy that I was hyped about a conversation but this is dro... this man is glued to his phone and I'm sure you guys have friends like this too. You never know how someone is feeling, maybe your conversation helps them in someway or maybe you just get a few laughs but don't get caught up man...just talk.
With that being said put this shit down and go interact with a human being. Next time you are hanging out with your friends see how long you guys can go without being glued to that IPhone.
If you made it this far i love and appreciate you. Also go DM @gr00vy.1 and get yo $5.
LOVE
